5. Third-party AI Services
In Short: We use third-party AI service providers to power our assistant features. Your data is processed to provide the Service and is not used to train AI models.
Anna uses artificial intelligence to analyze your messages, emails, calendar information, tasks, and voice input in order to provide intelligent suggestions, task management, voice interaction, and family coordination features.
To deliver these capabilities, we rely on three third-party AI providers: Anthropic, Google (Gemini), and DeepSeek. We may send message content, email content, calendar details, task information, and audio from voice interactions to these providers to generate suggestions, classify information, assist with task processing, create actionable tasks and events, and enable voice-based interaction on your behalf.
What data is shared: The content you provide to the Service, including messages, emails, calendar information, and voice audio, may be transmitted to these providers as needed to generate responses and suggestions.
How your data is protected: Data sent to our AI service providers is transmitted over encrypted connections, processed to generate a response, and is not retained by these providers for training their AI models. Our AI service providers are contractually obligated to handle your data in accordance with their published data protection policies and applicable privacy laws.
Your consent: By creating an account and using the Service, you consent to the transmission of your data to our AI service providers as described above. This processing is necessary to deliver the core functionality of the Service. If you do not wish for your data to be processed by third-party AI services, you should discontinue use of the Service.
5b. Google Account data & Limited Use
In Short: When you connect a Google account, Anna accesses your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts only to provide the assistant features you ask for. Anna's use of this data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Anna is a family assistant that works on top of the Google services you choose to connect. Connecting a Google account is optional and is initiated by you; you grant each permission on Google's own consent screen and can decline or remove any of them at any time. Sensitive permissions, such as Gmail automation and Google Contacts, are requested only when you turn on the feature that needs them, never silently. The Google data Anna accesses, and why:
- Gmail. Anna reads your recent email to surface tasks, events, reminders, and briefings, and (only when you ask and confirm) drafts and sends email on your behalf and creates, labels, or files messages and Gmail filters to keep your inbox organized. Anna never permanently deletes mail; "delete" moves a message to Trash, which Google keeps recoverable for about 30 days.
- Google Calendar. Anna reads your calendars to answer questions, brief you, and detect conflicts, and creates or edits events when you ask, showing you the change and confirming before writing anything that involves other people.
- Google Contacts. When you turn on Google Contact Sync (in Anna's Memory → People view), Anna reads your contacts' names, phone numbers, and email addresses so it can recognize the people in your life, matching names that appear in your email, calendar, and messages to the right person, and give you one unified contact list across web, mobile, and desktop. This access is read-only; Anna never edits your Google Contacts and never messages a contact without your explicit, per-message confirmation.
Limited Use. Anna's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The Google user data Anna accesses is used solely to provide and improve the user-facing assistant features described above; it is not sold or transferred to third parties for advertising or other unrelated purposes; it is not used for advertising; and it is not used to train, develop, or improve generalized or foundation AI models. Humans do not read your Google user data except (a) with your explicit consent (for example, to troubleshoot an issue you report), (b) where necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) where the data has been aggregated and anonymized. Where Anna relies on third-party AI providers to operate (see Section 5), that processing is performed solely to deliver these features at your direction, the providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models, and it remains subject to these Limited Use commitments.
How to revoke access. You can disconnect Google at any time from Anna's Settings, or remove only your synced contacts from Anna's Memory → People view. You may also revoke Anna's access directly from your Google Account's Third-party apps & services settings. When access is revoked, Anna stops accessing your Google data, and contacts you remove are deleted from Anna.
6. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store Personal Information, including your browser type, operating system version, domains, IP address, the URL of the page that referred you, referring/exit pages, and information about your interactions with our Website (such as the time of your visit to our Website, page views, where you have clicked, and Website traffic trends). To learn more about cookies, please visit www.allaboutcookies.org/.

8. How long do we keep your Personal Information?
In Short: We keep your Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your Personal Information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this Privacy Policy will require us to keep your Personal Information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Personal Information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your Personal Information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your Personal Information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
9. How do we keep your Personal Information safe?
In Short: We aim to protect your Personal Information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any Personal Information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your Personal Information, transmission of Personal Information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
10. Do we collect Personal Information from minors?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Website, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Website. If you become aware of any Personal Information we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at support@hianna.ai.
11. What are your privacy rights?
In Short: In some regions, such as the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom (UK), you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your Personal Information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.
In some regions (like the EEA and UK), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. To make such a request, please use the contact details provided below. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
If we are relying on your consent to process your Personal Information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please note, however, that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal, nor will it affect the processing of your Personal Information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
If you are a resident in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your Personal Information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. You can find their contact details here: https://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/bodies/authorities/index_en.htm.
